Mobile forms can better identify on-site problems

There are many benefits to deploying mobile forms into the field. Routinely, this space has touted positives such as improved processing and more accurate data collection. But one benefit that mobile forms don’t enough credit for is the identification of on-site problems.

In the case of inspectors in the field, part of their critical role is to report on any problem situation that might occur, and relay that assessment back to managers and administrators, as quickly as possible.

With mobile forms, inspectors from such industries as facility management and construction, can collect data in the field and real-time share it back to the head office. Photos can be taken and integrated into the mobile forms, to better provide visual evidence for administrators and managers, so that they in turn can take the appropriate corrective action.

Previous to mobile forms, inspectors would have to physically drive their paper forms back to the office, as well as bring back the digital cameras they used, to then transcribe and upload their reports. Now, with the push of a button from the field, inspectors can send in their reports, complete with form-integrated photographs, all from any smartphone or tablet.

Examine your company’s current methods for identifying and reporting on problem situations in the field. If the process isn’t as expedient or as efficient as you’d like it to be, then mobile form deployment is most likely the answer.
